Who Can Attend: Open to Military Affairs members, chamber members, employers.
Why You Should Attend: The Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) gives employers a firsthand look at what citizen soldiers do when they engage in military service. You will also have an opportunity to meet and greet other soldiers and see how their training might benefit your business when soldiers return to their civilian jobs.
Schedule:
0700 – Load Bus at Armory Coffee & Rolls
0730 – Depart for Ripley
1000 – Arrive Camp Ripley & Process Entry
1100 – Briefings at camp armory & environmental room
1145 – Lunch either at CRT Community Center or on field with MREs
1230 – Depart for field see east range, west range, etc. Interact with soldiers, observe tactics and tank ordinance firing
1500 – Museum Tour
1530 – Depart for Duluth
1800 – Arrive Duluth
ESGR Provides:
Ombudsman Services – Trained Ombudsmen act as mediators to provide information, counseling, and if required mediation to assist employers are in compliance with USERRA Laws.
Award Programs – ESGR Awards recognize employers who provide support, and personnel policies that are “Above and Beyond” to their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
Bosslifts – Employers are transported to military facilities where they observe National Guard and Reserve members on duty.
Briefing With the Boss – Brings together employers, unit commanders, ESGR volunteers and community leaders to discuss issues related to service in the National Guard and Reserve.
Statement of Support Signing Ceremonies – By signing a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, an employer demonstrates an understanding of the importance of military service. It also sends a clear message to employees who serve in the military that they don’t have to worry about their civilian jobs.
