Sustainable Twin Ports proudly presents a free Public Showcase featuring the participants of the Early Adopter Project at the Greysolon Ballroom On Thursday, October 8th, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
An “Early Adopter” implements innovative technologies ahead of the majority. This project focused on training businesses, organizations and municipalities in environmentally, economically and socially sustainable practices based on the ‘4 Principles of Sustainability’ developed by The Natural Step.
If you’re planning to attend the “Green” Conference being presented by the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce the same morning, you won’t want to miss this event, where actual local outcomes of strategic sustainability planning will be on display to give evidence to the wisdom of “Green: Policy, Practice and Profit”.
4:00 – 5:30 The Early Adopter Project Showcase Thirteen displays featuring the visions, action plans and outcomes from this year’s training in sustainability will be shared by our participating organizations. See how these Twin Ports organizations have been learning to strategically move toward sustainability.
5:30 – 6:45 Keynote Speaker Bob Willard, former IBM executive and expert on the Business Case for Sustainability, will present the ‘citizen’s perspective’ on living in a community that values sustainability. Willard, an internationally acclaimed speaker and author in this fast-growing field, is being sponsored by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, as one of their outreach action steps as participants in the Early Adopter Project. Q&A with Willard and the Early Adopters
will follow.
6:45 – 7:00 Sustainable Twin Ports STP announces the first opportunity to put your name on the list for the next round of training opportunities.
