Unlocking Opportunity: A Deep Dive into True North Goodwill & Employment Challenges

Imagine walking in the shoes of someone facing barriers to finding and retaining employment. Now, what if you had the tools and support to overcome those barriers? Being that support is the mission of local non-profit True North Goodwill.

On Tuesday, March 11^th join us for the first Connect at Clyde of 2025. In this interactive session, Dodie Brown, True North Goodwill President and CEO, will share how they are offering more than job placement, but holistic support that empowers people to thrive in the workforce. From skill-building programs to personal development services, they help individuals not just find a job but build a future. You will also get to learn more about the kinds of challenges job seekers face today through a hands-on simulation. By stepping into the shoes of someone navigating employment barriers, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the obstacles people encounter and the innovative solutions available to help them succeed. Join us to learn, engage, and challenge your perspective on employment, opportunity, and what it truly takes to help others find their True North.

Draw a Larger Circle: Expanding Inclusion in the Workplace Summit

The Duluth Chamber, in partnership with Lake Superior College & the College of St. Scholastica, is proud to present the first annual Equity & Inclusion Summit focused on enhancing inclusion in both the workplace and the greater Duluth community. The central theme of this summit will be learning what it means to draw a larger circle—In your circles, who is not invited? Who was not included? Which faces and stories were left out or overlooked? Our speakers will task attendees to look internally at how you can draw a larger circle in your life—both personally and professionally. Expect a day of storytelling, connection, and valuable & actionable takeaways.

After Hours is the Duluth Chamber's most popular monthly networking series. Area businesses and their employees enjoy appetizers and beverages at this happy hour event while meeting fellow local professionals.
